Castle Codex is an independent, unofficial guide for people who play Harry Potter: Defenders of Hogwarts, the board game by Studio MinaLima. We are fans and players, not the publisher.
How we write the guides
- Rules come from the official rulebook (version of 29 June 2026) and MinaLima's own How to Play video. We explain them in our own words and link to the originals.
- When MinaLima publishes errata or a new rulebook version, we update the affected pages.
- Strategy pages are our opinion. We label tips that come from the designers separately from our own experience.
- All diagrams and icons on this site are original drawings. We do not reproduce the game's artwork.
How this site is funded
Hosting costs little, but writing guides takes time. The site may show ads and may contain affiliate links to shops. If you buy through such a link, the shop may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are always marked. Shops and sponsors never decide what we write about a game.
