Right now the only way to order is the late pledge through Hive, the pledge manager behind the Kickstarter "Order now" button. MinaLima announced it would close on 9 October 2026, but on 10 October the page still showed active pledge buttons. No shop sells the game yet: not MinaLima's web shop, not the Harry Potter Shops, not Amazon. Next come House of MinaLima stores and Harry Potter Shops (a limited release promised for autumn 2026, not started when we checked), then game shops in 2027 with the English edition. A UK retail price of £75 has been reported.

Late pledge now or wait for shops?
If the Hive page still takes orders, it is the only way to get a copy in the first shipping wave and the only way to get the Kickstarter extras. The base tier costs £58 plus shipping and tax, compared with a reported £75 in UK shops. Outside the UK, shipping can close that gap, so check the final total at checkout before you decide. If you only want to play and do not mind waiting, the 2027 shop release is the low-risk option.

Which edition makes sense?
- You just want to play: The Defender. The game is complete; nothing in the higher tiers changes the rules.
- You love the components: The Guardian. Wooden tokens and card sleeves make the most practical difference at the table, because sleeves protect cards you shuffle every game.
- You collect MinaLima: The Collector. Most of its extra value is in the March 2027 Collector's Box and the signed portfolio.

These were offered in the pledge manager. A German browser showed the prices in euros; Kickstarter converts currencies, so your price may differ.

Shipping, VAT and customs
Pledge prices do not include shipping or sales taxes. Both are calculated from your address and paid in the Hive pledge manager, including VAT, GST, US state taxes and import duties where they apply. That is why the amount you paid at the end can be noticeably higher than the tier price. Keep your pledge manager receipt: if a courier asks for extra fees, it shows what you already paid.
What to watch out for
- Resellers before retail. Until shops stock the game, listings on marketplaces are usually resold backer copies. Compare with the original tier price plus shipping before you pay a premium.
- "Kickstarter exclusive" means exclusive. Items marked this way are not expected in the retail box.
- Fake shops. Buy from MinaLima, Hive, Kickstarter or well-known retailers. Be careful with new sites selling "Harry Potter Defenders" at a big discount.
- Language. The game launches in English only. MinaLima says translated editions will follow later; no German, French or Spanish edition has been announced yet.
